Emails claiming a child-welfare report had been filed are being sent to Pirkanmaa residents, sometimes offering a link to view the alleged report and even reserving a callback time, Tamperelainen reports.

Pirkanmaa wellbeing services say the messages are scams and not from the region’s social workers. Genuine child-welfare contacts never arrive via email with clickable links; real cases are handled by phone or by letter, and officials will not ask people to log in with bank credentials to view documents. Do not click any links or provide banking details.

Online scams that impersonate government or banking services have been on the rise. Earlier this year, the Kilpi app logged multiple campaigns that mimicked Suomi.fi and banks the Kilpi app's March warning. Police cybercrime investigators have been probing advanced phishing schemes capable of bypassing two-factor authentication an ongoing AITM phishing investigation.
