SOK opens restructuring talks that could eliminate 130 jobs, create 60 new roles
SOK has opened change negotiations covering about 900 employees; up to 130 positions may be cut while the company plans to create about 60 new roles.
Change negotiations affecting roughly 900 SOK employees began on 25 August and are expected to conclude by 15 September, Tamperelainen reports. Up to 130 positions could be eliminated, while the company plans to create about 60 new roles, which it intends to offer to some employees whose current jobs would end. SOK emphasised that the end of a position does not mean 130 people will automatically be dismissed. CEO Hannu Krook said the review is a response to changing consumer expectations, international competition and technological development, and aims to build an organisation where business and technology work smoothly together. The move follows other recent local restructuring talks, such as Rinnekodit's change negotiations in May and TAMK's change talks in March.
