TAKK has published annual tuition fees for non‑EU/EEA students with residence permits, ranging from about €10,000 to over €17,000 as Finland introduces vocational tuition in August.

Tampereen Aikuiskoulutuskeskus (TAKK) has published annual tuition fees for students from outside the EU and EEA with student residence permits, setting rates between about €10,000 and more than €17,000 as Finland introduces vocational tuition in August, YLE reports.

The most expensive programme is the basic logistics qualification focused on transport services. TAKK’s sector director, Janne Haikansalo, says the prices reflect investments in equipment and learning environments; driving instruction, for instance, is given one student at a time, which pushes costs up.

Under national rules, institutions are responsible for setting fees that must cover all study-related expenses. The charge does not apply to those with a permanent residence permit or to people studying in labour training.

By comparison, Tampere upper secondary schools will charge €10,200 for most programmes and €13,200 for the International Baccalaureate programme, while Tampere Region Vocational College’s annual fees range from €10,400 to €17,800.

Haikansalo says TAKK has not yet estimated how many international students will enrol under the new system. Applications from international students nationwide have already plunged since the policy change.
