This autumn, Tampere and neighbouring municipalities will map companies' international recruitment needs and pilot shared services to help firms hire and retain international workers.

This autumn, Tampere and neighbouring municipalities will map regional companies' international recruitment needs and launch joint pilot services to support business growth. The initiative builds on five years of International House Tampere's work developing employer-focused international recruitment services. It will survey current capabilities across businesses and economic services in the city region, then run pilots designed and delivered by International House Tampere (IHT) and participating municipalities.

Planned services include fast-track hiring for companies experiencing rapid growth, support for international expansion and access to critical specialist skills. Retention measures will also be piloted, including tailored job-search assistance and career planning for spouses. The aim is a city-region model for international recruitment, with shared situational awareness and cross-municipal operational cooperation.

Funding comes from Pirkanmaan liitto (Aiko funding). The project follows recent city efforts to attract international talent and support internships for international students, including a city-funded residency for tech professionals and a diversity voucher pilot to help international students secure internships.
