Tampere launches diversity voucher pilot to help international students land Finnish internships
Tampere is launching a pilot diversity voucher to encourage local employers to offer internships to international students as part of the Internship Kickstart campaign.
According to the City of Tampere, Tampere is launching a pilot diversity voucher to encourage local employers to offer internships to international students.
The voucher will act as a top-up to lower employers' threshold for hiring international students and help students gain their first Finnish work experience. It also lets companies test international talent while tapping students' language skills, cultural knowledge and current university expertise. The initiative is part of the Internship Kickstart campaign.
The pilot will be carried out with International House Tampere, the Tampere higher education community and regional employers. Outcomes will inform evaluation and a possible wider roll-out, and application details and timing will be published later.
The pilot follows the city's recent call for partners on a €15m employment pilot and builds on earlier voucher schemes that offered entrepreneurship vouchers to young residents.
