More than 15 companies from the Tampere region presented rehabilitation, healthcare, accessibility and housing solutions to a delegation from the UNBROKEN hospital and the City of Lviv during visits in late September and early October. The visit follows earlier reporting that Lviv’s UNBROKEN hospital was in Tampere to scout rehabilitation and mental-health solutions, and comes after Business Tampere opened a Lviv office to connect Tampere firms with Ukraine’s reconstruction market the Lviv delegation's visit and the new Lviv office.

The delegation included UNBROKEN’s head of mental health, Oleh Berezyuk; executive director Maryana Svirchuk; project manager Daryna Kikot; and Lviv accessibility specialist Julia Verechinska.

Meetings paired firms from the region’s health ecosystem with researchers, educators and clinicians to identify practical ways to support UNBROKEN’s integrated hospital and rehabilitation centre. Technologies on show ranged from medical thermal imaging and remote monitoring to assistive input devices and hospital infrastructure. Presentations included Thermidas Oy’s thermal imaging for circulation and tissue assessment, Ataplay Oy’s gamified rehabilitation tools, Quha Oy’s head-mouse and contactless puff-switch assistive controls, and Porkka Oy’s cold-storage solutions for clinical settings.

Another strand of the programme focused on accessible, sustainable housing for people recovering from the effects of war. Companies and organisations such as Validia, Monidose Oy, Treili Oy, Commu, Vivonep, Sitowise, Ensio Health and Teleker demonstrated services and digital tools for medication management, community support, AI conversational assistance, accessible building design and television-based remote care. The aim is to combine rehabilitation with independent living and everyday participation.

Tampere University of Applied Sciences and Tampere University highlighted local expertise in rehabilitation, accessibility, mental health, education and clinical research, and participants identified several concrete collaboration opportunities to develop further. The activities were organised under the Digital Health 3 project, which is co-funded by the European Union.
