Tampere launches profile event funding with up to 30,000 euros
A new Tampere profile events grant will support the city's strategic goals and boost its appeal, with funding capped at 20% of costs and up to 30,000 euros, Tamperelainen writes. The change was approved by the city council at its Monday meeting.
The grant is part of the corporate administration's Attractiveness and Advocacy group's competitiveness grants program. Eligible events must meet minimum criteria and will be evaluated against strategic criteria set for each council term. During the 2025–2029 council term, profile event support may be granted in three strategic areas: international cultural and sports events; events that significantly boost the liveliness and appeal of city spaces; and events that support the city's core industries internationally and in advocacy. The amount supported will be determined relative to the event's cost estimate and how strongly it meets the applicable strategic criteria, with a maximum of 20% of costs and no more than 30,000 euros. The plan is for applications to open by summer, with more details and guidelines published on the city's website in the Grants and Support section.
