Tampere man charged with multiple child sex offenses

A 20-year-old man from Tampere is charged with a string of sexual offenses against children, including child rape and 29 counts of sexual interference, after allegedly contacting youths on TikTok and Telegram in Tampere and Nokia during 2024–25, YLE reports.

The case will be heard in a single consolidated proceeding at Pirkanmaa District Court with two prosecutors handling the charges. The preliminary investigation, completed in January, indicated the man met two children; in one encounter they had intercourse, and in the other there was sexual touching, with victims aged 12 to 15. About 30 of the alleged offenses are online in nature, and some victims sent nude photos to the suspect while he sent nude photos of himself in return. The alleged offenses occurred in Tampere and Nokia between 2024 and 2025. The suspect was arrested and remanded by the Pirkanmaa District Court last August. No convictions in Pirkanmaa District Court are recorded for him in the past decade. A mental health assessment was ordered in February.
