Tampere resale apartment sales dip 5.8% in September as prices fall 5.5% year-on-year
Used housing sales in Tampere fell 5.8% in September year-on-year and resale prices dropped 5.5%, with 275 resale apartments sold, Aamulehti reports.
Used housing sales in Tampere fell 5.8% in September from a year earlier, with 275 resale apartments sold. The downturn was milder than the national slump, where resale transactions dropped 16.8% to 4,396 and new-build sales plunged to just 78 units, 78.6% below the five-year average, Aamulehti reports.
Helsinki recorded 621 resale transactions, a 9.7% fall. In Tampere, resale apartment prices were 5.5% lower year-on-year. They rose 1.7% from August to September.
The fall continues a trend seen earlier this year when second-hand transactions and prices slipped in the first half of 2026 the Jan–June report. Surveys show changing buyer priorities in Tampere, with stronger interest in family-sized homes and home offices influencing demand recent market analysis.
The Real Estate Brokers Association (KVKL) says the market mood is cautious. CEO Tuomas Viljamaa says supply is still abundant. Many sellers are waiting because of higher borrowing costs and uncertainty in the labour market. Selling times remain long outside Greater Helsinki, with resale apartments averaging 117 days on the market and detached houses 134 days. From January to September Tampere recorded 2,363 sales, compared with 2,870 in the same period of 2025 and 2,513 in 2024.
