Kiinteistömaailma's September 2026 barometer shows rising demand for family-sized homes in Tampere as buyers prioritise home offices, reliable broadband and low renovation needs.

Almost one in ten agents nationwide say clients have moved back because employers now require more office presence, Tamperelainen found. Kiinteistömaailma's September 2026 barometer suggests a lively autumn and winter for family-sized homes in the Tampere region.

Conversations about a home's suitability for remote work are most common among 30–39-year-olds. In Tampere, over a quarter of agents hear the topic from people across all working ages, according to Tommi Luosmala of Kiinteistömaailma Tampere Ratinan. Buyers most often ask about a dedicated home office or workspace, reliable broadband, location and access, and quiet or soundproofing. Condition and low renovation needs remain central concerns. Commuting links to stations and main roads still matter, despite increased homeworking.

Tero Naskali, a Kiinteistömaailma entrepreneur, says a limited supply of newer detached, semi-detached and larger terraced houses is likely to keep demand strong for family-sized properties, while plentiful small apartments are holding prices down in many areas. The barometer also shows growing expectations for price increases in many of agents' core areas, especially for larger terraced and semi-detached homes. For apartments, agents typically expect winter transactions to proceed at current price levels, though the smallest units may still face downward pressure.

The findings echo earlier reporting that buyers in Tampere increasingly favour detached houses as a standout preference and that used-apartment sales and prices weakened earlier in the year in a market slowdown.
