Tampere's Octo wins Finnish Graffiti Championship in Helsinki
Tampere artist Octo won the Finnish Graffiti Championship in Vallila, Helsinki, after painting on a long-idle NCC construction site fence used as the event's canvas.
Tamperelainen reports that Octo won the Finnish Graffiti Championship held Saturday in Vallila, Helsinki. 'Incredibly cool piece,' followers wrote on the winner's Instagram feed. Artists painted a construction fence on Teollisuuskatu, producing roughly a dozen works during the day. Organiser Funkon chose winners in two categories, with public voting partly deciding the results; the U29 (under-29) prize went to LUXURS. The event was the first national graffiti championship in ten years and used a long-idle NCC construction site fence as its canvas.
