Tampere’s Olympia-kortteli restaurant and music complex shutters after 10 years

Olympia-Ravintolat Oy said on its Instagram account that the restaurant complex in Tampere’s Olympia-kortteli – including restaurant Muusa, the Olympia music venue (Olympia-sali) and the Puutarha courtyard terrace – is closing its doors today, according to YLE. The company blamed a prolonged tough economic climate, rising costs and changing consumer behaviour after about a decade of operations, saying continuing is no longer financially viable. Lippupiste is contacting customers who bought tickets for cancelled shows; refunds can be requested online. The Finnish Tax Administration previously sought to place Olympia-ravintolat Oy into bankruptcy in March but withdrew the action after the firm paid its tax debt; a new bankruptcy petition was filed on 28 August, and pension insurer Ilmarinen filed its own petition on 11 September, YLE reports.
