Tampere’s Rise Finland wins West Finland Profitable Idea regional, heads to Helsinki final

Rise Finland has won the West Finland regional Profitable Idea startup contest and advances to the national final in Helsinki on 26 November, Tamperelainen reported.

The award recognised the firm's organisation of the Rise growth financing forum, a one-day event first held last April that brings a range of financing instruments under one roof to boost fundraising and internationalisation skills. The inaugural forum drew more than 60 partners. Regional competition manager Teemu Salo said the jury was impressed by Rise Finland’s persistence in assembling such a broad financing ecosystem.

The victory comes amid a growing local startup scene. Plug and Play was selected to run a Tampere innovation hub earlier this year Plug and Play's selection to run a Tampere innovation hub, and the city launched a 24/7 AI-backed startup advisory platform in April the AI-backed advisory platform launch.

Founded in 2025, Rise Finland reported a turnover of €129,000 in its first year. The company is currently staging a Startup World Cup event at Tampere’s Goods Station and plans the next Rise growth financing forum for April in Helsinki. The Profitable Idea contest has run since 1977 and is open to product or service ideas no more than three years old. The national winner will see their logo on a Times Square billboard and ring Nasdaq Helsinki's opening bell.
