Tamtron posts €1.5m H1 loss, tightens costs and acquires Teknoscale
Tamtron posted a €1.5 million loss in H1 as revenue fell to €23.6m; the company has launched cost cuts and acquired Teknoscale to strengthen its mobile-fleet weighing business.
Tamtron posted a €1.5 million loss in January–June and is tightening costs after a weaker start to the year, Aamulehti says. Revenue fell 2.9 percent to €23.6 million as fewer large system projects and weaker demand from Finland's forest industry hit sales. Gross margin improved to 63.2 percent from 60.9 percent a year earlier, but CEO Mikko Keskinen said the group could not offset the revenue decline sufficiently by cutting costs. Tamtron began efficiency measures early in the year, including personnel reductions and an organisational reshuffle. Those measures follow other recent local job cuts, such as Fimlab's May decision to cut about 30 person‑years in Tampere.
In June Tamtron acquired all shares of Teknoscale to strengthen its mobile-fleet weighing solutions. In July the company updated its 2026 guidance: it expects revenue to hold at the 2025 level while forecasting a decline in EBITDA. Tamtron employs about 330 people across nine European countries and says it expects the second half of the year to be clearly stronger.
