Tappara has signed 32-year-old goaltender Henri Kiviaho to a contract through the end of November to strengthen the club’s goalkeeper corps while Christian Heljanko remains absent, Tamperelainen reports. The short-term addition covers a busy stretch of fixtures.

The team needed a partner for Juha Metsola who can share the workload during a congested schedule, General Manager Janne Vuorinen said.

Kiviaho, who spent the opening weeks of the season with Graz 99ers, is expected to bring experience and recent game form to Tampere.

Young prospect William Gammals has completed a long rehabilitation and will begin the season with the U20 team as the club secures depth for upcoming matches, the club said.
