Tesoma Swim Centre Clears Water Tests, Reopens Monday

Tesoma Swim Centre will reopen at 10:30 a.m. on Monday 2 November after follow-up water samples tested clean.
The reopening follows the pool's closure at the end of October after a bacterial finding. According to YLE, Pseudomonas aeruginosa was detected in the main exercise pool, and officials closed the entire hall as a precaution.
YLE adds that the swim centre's pools are linked via basement balance tanks, meaning water in different areas can be connected. The only exception is the cold pool, which is not part of the same system.
After the discovery, staff carried out intensive chlorination before taking further samples, YLE reports. The follow-up tests found no harmful bacteria, so normal swimming activities can resume on Monday.
YLE also provides health context: the bacterium poses little risk to otherwise healthy people, but can cause serious infections in people with weakened immune systems. The outlet notes that the last Pseudomonas detection in Tampere was recorded at Pyynikki swimming hall a few years ago.
