Tram Hits Car at Nekalantie Junction in Hervanta
A car and a tram collided on Hervanta arterial road near the Nekalantie junction in Tampere on Tuesday evening. Emergency services checked one person and police are investigating.
The rescue department told YLE the crash happened at the junction with Nekalantie on Hervanta arterial road.
The car was turning from Hallilantie toward Tampere when it was struck by a tram travelling straight from Hervanta. Two people were in the car. One had already exited before emergency services arrived. The tram was carrying several dozen passengers, and some left at the scene.
An ambulance unit checked one person at the scene. Police are continuing a detailed investigation into how the collision occurred.
