Tuhdimmat Tahdit Cancelled After Tuhti Events Files for Bankruptcy

Tuhdimmat Tahdit festival in Tampere is cancelled. YLE reports that organiser Tuhti Events Oy has filed for bankruptcy and the two-day rock festival planned for Ratinanniemi on 3–4 July will not go ahead, with about 1,400 advance tickets sold.

Estate trustee, attorney Vilho Ilveskoski says the ticketing service’s ticket protection will not cover losses caused by the bankruptcy. Buyers who paid by credit card should contact their card company to pursue a chargeback; those who used other payment methods must register with the trustee to be recognised as creditors. Ilveskoski warns the bankruptcy estate appears to have very limited funds — roughly €27,000 in assets against about €500,000 in claims — so most ticket purchases are likely unrecoverable.

Pirkanmaa District Court placed the Nokia-based company into bankruptcy on 29 April after a string of creditor actions: pension insurer Ilmarinen filed first on 27 March for just under €13,000 and the tax authority lodged a claim of about €61,000 on 10 April, and the company itself applied for bankruptcy on 28 April. The festival had announced 12 acts, including Europe, Saxon, Danko Jones, Battle Beast, Mokoma, Stam1na, Peer Günt and Viikate.
