Tullikamari Cultural Centre in Tampere has been granted a use permit and will be handed over on 31 August, with users taking possession on 1 September. The handover follows earlier reporting that the renovation was on schedule to finish by the end of August the April renovation update.
The extensive renovation updated the venue for modern events while preserving its historic character. It also brought the building up to current event, safety and accessibility standards. More than 500 professionals worked on the project, and Minnakaisa Kuivalainen, executive director of Tampere Music Festivals, said she was "delighted that the project was completed on schedule."
The renewed premises will be operated by Tampereen Kulttuurikamari Oy, which already has dozens of concerts, gala events and other bookings lined up. The first major programme at Tullikamari will be the 45th Tampere Jazz Happening, scheduled for 29 October to 1 November 2026. Janne Laurila, programme manager at Tampereen Kulttuurikamari Oy, said the company is "genuinely excited" to return and highlighted improvements to visitor comfort and practical functionality. The festival's programme will be published on 1 September.
