Tullikamari Reopens After Renovation, Will Host 45th Tampere Jazz Happening

According to the City of Tampere, Tullikamari has reopened after nearly two years closed and will stage the 45th Tampere Jazz Happening from 29 October to 1 November 2026. The reopening follows improvements to safety, accessibility and building systems, part of a €13.7 million renovation the €13.7 million renovation.

The century-old venue has been upgraded to improve functionality, and event operations will be run by Tampereen Kulttuurikamari Oy. Janne Laurila, programme manager at the company, said the team is "genuinely excited" to restart events at Tullikamari and called it fitting that an internationally recognised festival leads the return. This year’s Jazz Happening, curated by new artistic director Martyna van Nieuwland, names the Netherlands as its theme country and mixes contemporary Finnish and international jazz.

City-organised and community events will also return. On 10 November the Tampere for All Volunteer Fair will bring roughly 60 organisations together for talks on inclusion and volunteering, with philosopher Frank Martela giving the keynote and Miljoonasade performing as a duo. Marianna Lehtinen, head of public cultural services for the City of Tampere, welcomed the venue’s renewed role hosting arts festivals and events for people of all ages.

Dozens of concerts have already been announced through early 2027, from Apulanta and Popeda to newer acts like Erika Vikman and Nenerchy. Club nights at Klubi and dance events at Pakkahuone will resume as part of the autumn programme.
