Tampere Museums has removed Veikko Haukkavaara’s painted-steel fish sculpture from Koukkuniemi and placed it in museum storage while staff decide on a permanent location.

Tampere Museums has temporarily removed a painted-steel fish sculpture by Veikko Haukkavaara from Koukkuniemi and placed it in the museum’s collection centre while staff decide on a permanent location.

The city bought the work from Haukkavaara (1924–2004) in 1973. He was especially known for welded animal sculptures. The fish will remain in storage until a new site is chosen.
