Yle to sell TV-archive costumes and props at Ratina to raise funds for child welfare
Yle will sell costumes and props from its TV archives in a one-day fundraiser at Ratina shopping centre on 7 November, with all proceeds donated to the Mannerheim League for Child Welfare.
A one-day fundraiser at Ratina shopping centre in Tampere on 7 November will offer clothes and props from Yle's TV archives, Tamperelainen reports. The sale, organised by first-year cultural producer students from Humak, will include men's suits, vintage dresses, formal and historical outfits, role costumes, hats and old radios donated by Yle.
Entry is free. The event runs from 12:00 to 16:00 on the third floor between Zara and Ratina's pop-up space, but organisers warn heavy crowds and queues are likely. Purchases must be made by card or MobilePay only.
All proceeds will be donated to the Mannerheim League for Child Welfare. The sale follows recent clothing-swap and recycling events in Tampere this autumn, such as the VaateSWAP event at Tampere-talo and the citywide recycling hub day.
