Tampere becomes recycling hub on 17 October with three major swap events

Tampere will stage a recycling super day on 17 October, with three simultaneous events: the country's largest SWAP clothing exchange at Tampere-talo, TampereMission's free hobby-equipment flea market at Tullintori, and a Second Hand fair at Tavaraasema, Aamulehti reports.

Tullintori's hobby-equipment flea market runs 12–16 October and offers 40 free sales spots for private sellers, clubs and school classes. Items expected at the market include skis, skates, board games and other recreational gear. Donations of usable equipment are accepted at Tullintori on 15 October from 15:00–19:00 and 16 October from 14:00–16:00. Earlier, clothing was collected at the Moro car boot sale in early September the Moro trunk flea market in early September.

Collections will also be held at Tampere-talo ahead of the swap event.

Proceeds from sales of donated equipment will support TampereMission's activities for older residents and efforts to reduce loneliness. Unsold items will be redirected for reuse.

Tavaraasema will feature private stalls, company booths, talks and workshops. Sellers and groups can reserve a spot via TampereMission's website by 2 October.
