Zoning Amendment for Tiilitehtaankatu 5 Moves Forward
The City Environment Committee recommended the city board approve a zoning amendment for Tiilitehtaankatu 5 and handled several other municipal items at its 26 May meeting.
According to a press release from ePressi, at its 26 May 2026 meeting the City Environment Committee recommended the city board approve the Tiilitehtaankatu 5 zoning amendment (plan no. 2411), dated 19 May 2026, and handled several other items.
Maintenance Manager Sami Leppänen and Building Control Manager Timo Vatanen updated members on fibre network works across the city. Vatanen said tree felling had taken place within the zoning area. Property Manager Kristiina Pasula presented several sauna options for the municipal outdoor swimming pool.
Members reviewed the City Environment sector’s finances and risks for January–April 2026, receiving an overview of budgetary pressures and identified risk items in the four-month report. The report was taken into the committee’s records.
They approved responses to statements on the draft Tiilitehtaankatu 5 plan and voted to recommend that the city board accept the zoning amendment, moving the proposal on to the board and, if necessary, the city council.
The meeting also covered the sector’s participation plan for 2026–2027 and agreed on a response to a council initiative on directional signage to the city centre, recommending the council mark the initiative as handled. An item updating the committee’s 2026 meeting schedule was removed from the agenda. The full agenda and documents are available on Tweb.fi.
