The zoning plan for a new Järvensivu school and a 100‑place daycare has been published for public comment; it reserves about 7,200 m² for the school and daycare and around 1,440 m² of building rights for housing.

The proposal implements the service network plan approved by the city board on 13 April 2026 and sets aside roughly 7,200 square metres for the school and daycare, with about 1,440 square metres of building rights reserved for a new housing plot. About 50 people would work there.

Traffic arrangements will be adapted for drop-off and service traffic, resident flows, parking, cycling and walking, the city says. The layout also takes the nearby Tampere–Orivesi railway to the north and Kalevankangas ridge and Iidesjärvi to the south into account.

During the preparation phase, public feedback did not force major changes. Regulations were tightened on noise control, stormwater management and groundwater protection, and respondents praised building protection while urging extra attention to traffic safety. The matter is listed for the Community Committee meeting on 21 September 2026.
