150-square-metre Outbuilding Burned Down on Kaanaantie in Kangasala
A roughly 150-square-metre outbuilding on Kaanaantie in Kangasala was destroyed by fire. No one was injured, and nearby buildings avoided major damage, although a balcony more than 20 metres away suffered melting from radiant heat.
The outbuilding was already fully involved in flames when a neighbour raised the alarm, Tamperelainen reports. By the time the first rescue unit arrived, part of the roof had collapsed. Other buildings in the yard escaped major damage, but plastic fittings on a balcony more than 20 metres away melted from radiant heat. No one was at the residential building when units reached the scene. The cause of the fire is unknown, and the outbuilding was connected to the electrical grid.
