Resident Douses 10-square-metre Field Fire on Joutsiniementie in Kangasala

The blaze burned about 10 square metres and was started by ashes left on the field, Tamperelainen reports. At 3 p.m., the Pirkanmaa Rescue Department said a resident's rapid action had put the fire out before crews arrived. Firefighters then doused and inspected the area to ensure the fire was fully out. There were no injuries or property damage. The incident follows other recent small human-caused fires in the region, including a Midsummer bonfire that reignited in Nokia and dozens of human-caused grass and brush fires across Pirkanmaa.
