32-Year-Old Detained in Armonkallio After Alleged Bladed-Weapon Attack
A 32-year-old woman has been ordered held on suspicion of attempted murder after an incident at an Armonkallio apartment on July 23; police say a bladed weapon was likely used and the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening.
A 32-year-old woman has been ordered held on suspicion of attempted murder after an incident at an apartment on Pajakatu in Tampere's Armonkallio area on July 23, local paper Aamulehti reported.
According to YLE, police say the woman is not a Finnish citizen, and that the Pirkanmaa District Court decided on Monday, August 10, to keep her in custody on probable cause.
YLE also notes that the prosecutor's deadline to bring charges in the case is September 16.
Aamulehti adds that the broader case is linked to an incident shortly after 00:30 on the night between Saturday and Sunday on Valtaraitti in Hervanta, where one person was wounded and taken to hospital.
Investigating officer chief inspector Jari Luoto told reporters the suspect and the victim knew each other, and that officers believe a bladed weapon was used. The victim did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
Aamulehti reports that on Thursday police asked the Pirkanmaa District Court to detain a suspect on suspicion of attempted homicide.
The arrest follows another recent remand in the city: a 31‑year‑old was remanded last week in a separate alleged attempted homicide near Puutarhakatu.
