About 4,500 visitors came to Kauppi for the Liikkuva Tampere day, spending the day trying new sports, attending shows and lectures, and taking part in community activities. The event is part of the city's summer exercise programme launched earlier this summer.
Participants could dance, jump at the Trampolin Park, try judo or play chess. Dozens of local clubs and organisations also showcased hobby and leisure opportunities. Children took part enthusiastically. One child described the event as "better than Christmas." Organisers, including Kauppi Sport Center, Varalan Urheiluopisto, Hämeen Liikunta ja Urheilu and Aamulehti, thanked volunteers, clubs and visitors for making the day a success.
