Tampere Day Weekend: Half-Marathon, Free Guided Tours and Family Programmes

Tampere will host a packed long weekend of Tampere Day events on 3–4 October. The full programme, compiled from an open call for events, is available on the Tampere Day website and follows an earlier announcement published in late September.
On Saturday the Tampere Runs will close parts of the city centre for five- and ten-kilometre races and a half-marathon, scheduled between 12:00 and 16:00. Free themed walking tours run across the city on Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00 and on Sunday from 11:00 to 15:00; no advance registration is required for those walks. The Old City Hall offers guided tours on both days but requires advance booking. Tampere City Hall will open its ground-floor rooms and host a family programme on Saturday from 10:00 to 15:00.
Sunday programme highlights include emergency vehicle displays at the Central Fire Station and an open Fire Museum. Varala Sports Institute stages an active family event from 14:00 to 17:30, and several museums offer free admission over the weekend. Organisers expect large crowds and ask visitors to travel by public transport, on foot or by bicycle.
