70,000 Attend Blockfest as Organisers Trial New Noise Controls
About 70,000 people attended Blockfest in Tampere this weekend, and organisers trialled new noise-reduction measures around Ratinan Stadium.
Aamulehti reported that about 70,000 people attended Blockfest in Tampere this weekend. Organisers trialled new measures to reduce noise around Ratinan Stadium, reorienting speakers, monitoring bass and carrying out checks inside nearby homes. The festival was one of several packed events in Tampere and was sold out according to earlier coverage. Police recorded about 500 incidents across Pirkanmaa and detained around 30 people during the festival weekend the police reported.
After about sixty noise complaints last year, organisers reused the same speaker system as in 2024 but paid special attention to placement and orientation. They also improved pre-event communications by distributing apartment-level notices.
Aamulehti reporters who toured Laukontori, Ratina and Koskikeskus between 5 and 6 p.m. on Sunday found only scattered litter and no obvious increase over a normal weekend.
