Aito Säästöpankki and Länsi‑Uudenmaan Säästöpankki have signed a letter of intent to merge in 2027, creating the savings bank group's largest member with more than 100,000 customers.

Länsi‑Uudenmaan Säästöpankki and Pirkanmaa’s Aito Säästöpankki have signed a letter of intent and plan to merge in 2027, with a final decision expected early next year. The union is intended to renew services, improve customer experience and deepen staff expertise while supporting profitable growth across their operating areas. Customers should not see changes to account numbers, bank cards or existing services if the plan proceeds. Heini Piitulainen is slated to become CEO of the combined bank. The merger would create the savings bank group's largest member, with more than 100,000 customers. The details were reported by Tamperelainen.
