The City of Tampere opens applications on 16 September 2026 for cultural development grants to fund projects carried out in 2027; two separate €50,000 allocations are available and the deadline is 7 October 2026.

According to the City of Tampere, applications for cultural development grants to fund projects carried out in 2027 will open on 16 September 2026. The electronic application form goes live that day and the submission deadline is 7 October 2026 at 15:45. The grant call follows the city's separate opening of general community grants in mid-September as part of its wider grant programme and a March decision to allocate €2.97 million to support artists, venues and cultural minorities earlier this year.

The grants target Tampere-based non-profit cultural organisations, supporting collaboration networks, experimentation, new working methods, skills development and applications for EU funding. Two separate €50,000 allocations are available. One is for growing, established festivals; the other supports culture projects that expand activity into target neighbourhoods such as Hervanta, Tesoma, Multisilta, Peltolammi, Kaukajärvi and Annala. Awards cover up to 80% of eligible costs. They must be recorded on a separate cost centre in the applicant’s bookkeeping and cannot be used for core organisational operating costs, artistic production, recordings, publications, investments or private business activity.

Decisions will be made during 2026 according to the city's general grant principles and the education and culture committee’s criteria. Applicants must be Tampere non-profit organisations that are registered or can show they have applied for registration, and they must submit a project plan, cost estimate and financing plan with their electronic application available at www.tampere.fi/kulttuurinkehittamisavustus.
