Arbusca Opens in Ranta-Tampella: 45 Affordable Rentals in New Nine-Storey Building
A new nine-storey building called Arbusca in Ranta‑Tampella has 45 income‑restricted rental apartments; residents began moving in during the weeks after Midsummer.
Suomen Keskuskodit completed Arbusca in mid-June. The nine-storey building contains 45 affordable rental apartments and is offered under income-based selection criteria.
Marvea designed and delivered the project as a design-build contract. The company said the scheme required several technically demanding solutions, including a deck, underground parking and a rooftop garden. The building was financed with short-term, interest-subsidized loans. The housing company applies income ceilings: a single adult may earn up to €3,540 per month, two adults up to €6,020, one adult with one child €4,190, and two adults with two children up to €7,270. Assessments use regular monthly gross income, and if no suitable applicants meet the limits the company may rent to those who exceed them.
Residents began moving in during the weeks after Midsummer. Most apartments are spacious three- and four-room units, with layouts prioritizing open living areas, functional floor plans and views. Shared facilities and rooftop gardens on the top floor are intended to support community life.
