Avain Asunnot completes 57 rental homes on Kangasala's Tarpila hillside

Avain Asunnot said work on the 57-unit rental building in Kangasala's Tarpila area finished roughly two months ahead of schedule. Built with Pohjola Rakennus Oy Suomi, the project adds one- to two-bedroom homes set into the Kirkkoharju slope.

The apartments measure 41 to 60 square metres. The design makes the most of the hillside: entrances, walkways and parking sit on the upper level, while play and outdoor seating areas are clearly below and separated from vehicle traffic. The entrance floor includes a club room and a shared sauna. Bike parking is available on both levels, and there is storage space in the basement.

Project manager Timo Husso said the early completion showed that work on site went smoothly and cooperation functioned seamlessly, and Pohjola Rakennus production manager Vesa-Pekka Rissa added that the team aimed to marry the slope's special features with functional apartments and pleasant shared yards.

The site is about 500 metres from Kangasala town centre, with Kirkkoharju School next door and day-care services nearby. Good Tampere Region public transport connections to cities such as Jyväskylä and Lahti should make everyday life easy for residents, sales manager Jari Parkkinen said.

Avain Asunnot has recently developed similar rental projects in Tampere, including 66 homes in Hiedanranta the Hiedanranta project and a 58-unit building in Santalahti the Santalahti development.
