The national autumn joint application opens on 31 August and runs until 10 September. Across Finland it lists about 12,100 study places in more than 350 options, with 21 universities of applied sciences and two universities taking part. Most new places are in health and wellbeing, and the programmes begin in January 2027.
About 9,700 places are aimed at applicants with an upper secondary or equivalent foreign qualification, and roughly 74 percent of those are reserved for people seeking their first higher-education place.
In Tampere, Tampere University of Applied Sciences is offering 15 bachelor-level and 11 master's-level (YAMK) options across business and administration, engineering and health and wellbeing, including nursing and public health nursing. There is also an English-language international business option. On the master's level, the YAMK programmes cover areas such as data skills and artificial intelligence, health technology, leadership in the energy transition, music and health promotion. Applicants to YAMK programmes must hold a relevant prior higher-education degree and at least two years' relevant work experience.
Applications are submitted through the Finnish National Agency for Education’s Studyinfo (Opintopolku) service. Applicants may list up to six choices in order of preference, and final selection results will be published by 19 November.
Earlier this month Tampere universities joined the national 30‑ECTS study voucher pilot aimed at helping young people who missed out on study places find alternative course options.
