Burning Traffic Cone by Tampere Railway Triggers Wildfire Alert
A plastic traffic cone was set alight beside the railway on Alasniitynkatu in Tampere on Thursday evening; the flames died out before responders arrived and no firefighting was needed.
On Thursday 5 November at 17:57 someone set a plastic traffic cone alight beside the railway on Alasniitynkatu in Tampere. A single rescue unit was dispatched to inspect the scene. Crews found the cone had been ignited, but the flames had gone out on their own, so no firefighting was required. Because of its location beside the tracks the call was treated as a potential grass-fire risk, but the situation was already resolved when responders arrived, Tamperelainen reports.
