Caffitella Expands to Hervanta, Opens in Duo Shopping Center
Caffitella expands to Hervanta, opening a cafe in the Duo shopping center in April with breakfast, lunch and a cake buffet, according to Aamulehti. Renovations begin next week, and the opening date hinges on progress, with a target of April 22.
Aamulehti notes that the Hervanta cafe will mirror Ratina's lineup, including breakfast on weekdays, a home-style lunch, and a Sunday cake buffet. The Duo site previously hosted a Linkosuon cafe, and Liiri says Hervanta is a busy, city-like area with demand for a central cafe. "Tampere has life beyond the city center, and Hervanta is a big place," he says, adding that they have been studying the area and the mall. "Bottomless madness," Liiri jokes, "we have always gone against the general situation and invested when others cut back. We balance caution with courage and, if necessary, we will take a step back, but so far we have succeeded." Restella’s network now comprises 14 cafes, a bakery and a party-supply store, with Hervanta becoming Restella’s fifteenth cafe. According to Fonecta Finder's 2024 data, turnover was €9 million, the year closed with a loss of €36,000, and about 130 employees.
