Draft Hämeenpuisto street and park plans on display at Metso
A public drop-in at Main Library Metso on 20 October will let residents view and comment on draft street and park plans for Hämeenpuisto. Exhibition materials are on display from 19 October to 2 November.
A public planning drop-in on Hämeenpuisto’s street and park proposals takes place at Main Library Metso on Tuesday 20 October, 16:30–18:30.
The drop-in runs in Kuusi Hall on the library’s lowest floor. Staff will be on hand to discuss the proposals.
Exhibition materials for the street plan and the park masterplan will be on view online and at Tampere's service point from 19 October to 2 November 2026. Residents can leave feedback during that period.
The exhibition includes a full park masterplan for Hämeenpuisto, and detailed street proposals for the Näsijärvenkatu–Puuvillatehtaankatu–Satakunnankatu stretch and the Satamakatu–Hämeenpuisto junction. The designs aim to improve walking and cycling connections, make crosswalks safer and clarify vehicle lane layouts. The park draft places a bike route along the park's east edge, adds plantings and seating at both ends and near Puuvillatehtaankatu, and introduces new power and water points to support events, while preserving the park's historic character.
