Vapriikki will host family-oriented programmes every weekday of Tampere's autumn break, 12–16 October, with themed activities across its museums including the recently updated Finnish Museum of Games.

Vapriikki will stage daily family-oriented programmes across Tampere's autumn break from October 12–16. The Finnish Museum of Games at Vapriikki reopened on 10 October after a renovation that added new playable games earlier this month.

Monday is Museum Game Day in the updated Finnish Museum of Games. Expect short info talks and a lineup of new and retro games. There will also be a Hama bead workshop and board game stations; several events run between 10:00 and 15:00.

Tuesday focuses on local history in the Mennyt maailma exhibition, which explores Tampere in the early 20th century. Drama sessions bring an early-1900s resident's views on housing and transport to life, alongside community art activities and the Vapriikki photo archive.

Wednesday turns to stones and nature in the Stone Gallery and the natural history museum. Hands-on specimens and multiple talks invite children to explore geology and wildlife.

Thursday channels football and ice-hockey fever. Visitors can try fan face painting, table hockey and an ice-hockey simulator. Skills sessions led by Alexander Wessberg and talks on World Cup history round out the day's programme.

The week closes at the Post Museum with postal-themed crafts, tote-bag decorating using vintage stamps and a children's theatre performance by Lastenteatteri Loihu.

Programme details were provided by the City of Tampere.
