Fifty Tammela businesses to offer discounts, workshops and live music on inaugural Tammela Day

Fifty Tammela businesses will open their doors on Saturday, September 5 for the first-ever Tammela Day, a neighbourhood-wide event that coincides with Finland's National Day for Entrepreneurs. It's district-wide. The initiative gathers shops, cafés, bars and services across the district. The idea began in February as a spontaneous plan by Teho-osasto Coworking entrepreneur Elina Eskola to give residents a reason to explore small local businesses. Rather than a single venue, the event spreads across Tammela: participating companies will offer discounts, host workshops and yoga sessions, hold open-door moments and run other pop-up activities during their regular opening hours. Organizers initially targeted 20–30 businesses but capped participation at exactly 50. They hope to make the day an annual tradition that strengthens cooperation between local entrepreneurs. The event joins other recent Tampere markets and neighbourhood events that draw residents to retail streets that brought around 100 vendors to Central Square in spring. Evening festivities include live music at Pitkän päivän ilta. The details were reported by Tamperelainen.
