Helsinki-based pinza specialist Uuno opens a Tampere city centre restaurant around early May, Aamulehti reports
The new venue is under renovation with staff recruitment already underway, and the exact address has not yet been disclosed; it will have seating for about 40–55 customers. Paavo Heinilä, CEO of Uuno Yhtiöt Oy, says this Tampere opening is the chain’s first location outside the Helsinki metropolitan area
The Tampere unit joins four existing Helsinki and Espoo restaurants (Jätkäsaaren, Kallio, Herttoniemi, and Kivenlahti) and will be operated by a mix of direct and rental tenants. The group’s 2025 turnover was 179,000 euros with a profit of 155,000 euros, according to Fonecta Finder 2025. Uuno’s crust is made from Italian sourdough starters and uses a blend of wheat, soy, and rice flours; the base, developed in the Rome region in the early 2000s, is marketed as pinza zetta. Heinilä notes that the soy and rice flours yield a crisper, lighter crust that highlights toppings and reduces the dough heaviness compared to traditional pizzas; the company also emphasizes community and a family-friendly atmosphere as part of its growth strategy.
