Best Tampere Restaurant Moves Into New City Center Space

Onni and Leo, Tamperelainen's multiple-time winners of Best Tampere Restaurant and Best Lunch Spot, will move to a larger space at the corner of Kyttälänkatu and Tuomiokirkonkatu in the TampereMission office building, opening on May Day, according to Tamperelainen.

The new site nearly doubles the current size, with indoor seating just under 100 and a summer terrace for about 40. The current Rautatienkatu location, in operation since 2019, houses around 40 guests, while weekends can see total visits exceed 170 with reservations around 120–130, the owners note. The move comes as Onni and Leo seek a bigger restaurant space and a venue with a view described as excitingly abroad-like.

The restaurant remains Mediterranean with Middle Eastern influences, including traditional dishes in the lunch buffet. Onni and Leo have long dominated Tamperelainen’s restaurant polls, winning Best Tampere Restaurant in 2023 and claiming Best Lunch Spot for three consecutive years (2023–25). according to Tamperelainen.
