Tampere will host a packed festival weekend, headlined by Blockfest at Ratina Stadium, the sold-out Festivaali in Pyynikki, Sirkus Finlandia and a free Hiedanranta Garden Party on Saturday.

Aamulehti reports that Tampere will host a packed festival weekend, with Blockfest at Ratina Stadium, the sold-out boutique Festivaali in Pyynikki, Sirkus Finlandia in town and a free Hiedanranta Garden Party on Saturday. Blockfest will draw hip-hop crowds to Ratina Stadium on Friday and Saturday, with a lineup that includes Turisti’s only summer gig. The boutique Festivaali in Pyynikki is sold out and features artists such as Helmi Marleena and Ellinoora. Sirkus Finlandia, celebrating its 50th anniversary, runs in Tampere from 21–30 August with its big top set up on the Tampere Trade Fair parking lot before the tour continues to Kangasala and Valkeakoski. On Saturday Hiedanranta hosts a free Garden Party from 11:00 to 17:00, offering music, theatre, food and workshops, with the Tehdasaukio sauna open to visitors. Headliners at Hiedanranta include local band Ville Leinonen & Valumo, singers Ellimei and Emma Salokoski, a 60-member orchestra from the Pirkanmaa Music Institute performing at Tehtaan Verstas, and DJ Sara-Maaria on Tehdasaukio. The lineup spans pop, indie, orchestral and DJ sets. The programme features aerial acrobatics, K-pop dance and improvisational theatre. Hands-on workshops range from ribbon crafting and decorative stone painting to a garden-poetry workshop. Children can enjoy a clown disco, theatre play sessions, an instrument workshop and a hobbyhorse track in Lielahden Kartano park. Visitors will find open artisan studios, a photo point and a bookmobile, and can test cargo and box bikes. Jukolanaukio will host presentations on future housing plans from Bonava, T2H, A-Kruunu and Avain Asunnot. Food stalls and cafés including Hempee ice cream kiosk, Ravintola Väst and Café Kartano will serve the crowd. Nearby Parkano stages the Liekkiyö festival on Saturday with Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen among the headliners and a fireworks finale, while Tampere’s Komediateatteri Palatsi premieres the musical comedy Tootsie directed by Panu Raipia on the same evening.
