Ilves CEO highlights 11-game record, Spengler Cup return and Early Bird tickets

In a summer message, Ilves CEO Risto Jalo highlighted that eleven consecutive wins across December and January became Ilves's longest single-season winning streak in club history. The organisation is already focused on the 2026–27 Liiga campaign, which will be historic as the top flight expands to 17 teams and a 64-game regular season ahead of a new two-tier format.

The team finished in the Liiga top four for the fifth straight year but lost the bronze match to SaiPa after tight quarterfinal and semifinal series. Ilves made Champions Hockey League history by winning every group-stage game before falling to Luleå HC in the CHL quarterfinals. The U20 side claimed the regular-season title for the first time since 2014–15 and went on to win Finnish championship silver. The club placed second in the Aaro Kivilinna memorial award standings, while the women's, N20 and U16 teams each took Finnish bronze medals.

The economic situation remains challenging, but the senior squad has moved into its summer break and individual training. Preseason friendlies start in August. Liiga opens on Tuesday 1 September and the home opener at Nokia Arena is scheduled for Friday 25 September.

The club will return to the Spengler Cup after a 54-year absence. Early Bird season-ticket offers run until 31 July. CEO Risto Jalo thanked supporters and partners and wished the Ilves community a good summer.
