Karkunvuori tunnel closure forces early-morning detours for Tampere bus 36 on 8–9 September 2026

Nysse says the Karkunvuori tunnel will be closed on 8 and 9 September 2026, forcing Tampere bus line 36 onto temporary detours.

Services toward Pirkkala, operating as 36B, will follow a detour via Hervannan valtaväylä, Sotilaankatu, Hallilantie, Veisunkatu, Nurmenkatu, Hyllinniitynkatu and Kurssikeskuksenkatu. On Tuesday 8 September, early departures from the tram depot at 04:40, 05:10 and 05:40 toward Pirkkala will use this route.

Services toward Hervanta, operating as 36A, will run the reverse route, via Kurssikeskuksenkatu, Hyllinniitynkatu, Nurmenkatu, Veisunkatu, Hallilantie and Hervannan valtaväylä. On Wednesday 9 September, the affected trips from Pirkkala depart at 04:50 and 05:20 toward Hervanta. All temporary stops on the detour routes will be in use.

Nysse says the tunnel closure is connected to work at the Karkunvuori site. Passengers should check the Nysse route planner for the applicable day to see the detour schedules and stops, and allow extra time for early-morning journeys while the detours are in place.
