According to Aamulehti, the incident took place at about 22:45 on Tuesday on Tieteenkatu in Hervanta, when a knife was reportedly used during an alleged theft; the suspects fled the scene by car. Detective Chief Inspector Ona Autere of the Central Finland Police said the man who intervened suffered blade wounds but did not sustain serious injuries. Multiple eyewitnesses saw the episode, and video recordings are available that should aid the inquiry. The police are treating the case as attempted murder and robbery, though Autere cautioned those classifications may change as the investigation proceeds. The suspects are expected to be questioned on Friday.
