K-market Vapriikki opens in Tampere's Tampella on Thursday, November 5, replacing the former M-market after a complete renovation, according to Tamperelainen.
Customers can grab takeaway coffee, warm hamburgers and pizza from 6:30 at the new shop.
The store is run by mother and daughter Mira and Saara Itäaho. Mira returns to running a store after a long career in financial administration and says she values meeting customers. Saara, trained as a restonomist and a sports journalist, brings hands-on retail experience from the family’s earlier shops and from her own work.
K-market Vapriikki draws on the area's industrial history and aims to serve students, local residents and commuters. The focus is grab-and-go: filled baguettes and bagels, a salad bar, flowers, takeaway coffee and warm items such as hamburgers and pizza. On opening day there will be cake with coffee, special offers and product bags for customers, some containing hidden gift cards.
