Nordea to centralise services from Nokia, Lempäälä and Sastamala at Tampere Technopolis

Nordea will consolidate its Pirkanmaa branch services at the Technopolis hub in Tampere, moving customer service from Nokia, Lempäälä and Sastamala in stages, the local paper Aamulehti reports.

Nokia and Sastamala customer services are scheduled to merge into the Tampere unit at the end of November, with Lempäälä joining at the end of January 2027. All operations are expected to be based in Tampere by the end of March, Nordea says. Personal customer meetings will continue at the Technopolis site by appointment. Everyday banking and cash services will remain available at the central Kauppakatu office.

Jani Koivunen, head of Nordea’s Tampere office, said the change brings specialists under one roof, strengthens cooperation between units and will help the bank serve customers more smoothly. Around 30 employees will transfer to Yliopistonrinne, and the bank has expanded the premises to accommodate the growth.

The decision follows a broader trend of centralising services in Tampere, including the planned closure of the Kangasala police field unit and transfer of most staff to Tampere.
