Nuolialantie lanes shifted overnight, Sarankulmankatu path closed for a month during tram construction
Traffic on Nuolialantie in Rantaperkiö will be shifted overnight on Oct 15–16 and a roughly 250‑metre section of the Sarankulmankatu pedestrian and cycle path will be closed for about a month during tram corridor construction.
Tampereen Ratikan Pirkkala–Linnainmaa -allianssi said traffic arrangements on Nuolialantie in Rantaperkiö will change overnight on Oct. 15–16, and a roughly 250-metre section of the Sarankulmankatu pedestrian and cycle path will be closed for about a month.
The change follows earlier Nuolialantie traffic rerouting for the tram project which shifted traffic near the Härmälänoja bridge.
On the north side, foot and cycle routes along Nuolialantie have been paved, finished with stonework and planted with trees. That progress allows vehicle traffic to be moved onto the completed surfaces. Vehicle lanes will run on both sides of the tramway between Lentokentänkatu and Talvitie. The switch is scheduled overnight on Oct. 15–16, between 20:00 and 06:00. Bus stops will be slightly adjusted; Tampere region public transport operator Nysse will provide details.
Several side streets and property driveways will be converted to parallel junctions so vehicles can enter and exit only in one direction. Pihlajakatu, Kojolankatu and Kannistonkatu will become parallel junctions on the Nuolialantie stretch, with similar changes to residential connections between Hatanpään valtatie and Talvitie. Drivers can still turn left via the next intersection, unless signs prohibit it. Turns onto Nuolialantie will be right turns only.
Project manager Erkka Selonen for the Härmälä section said the team will open a new separated pedestrian and cycle route reaching Talvitie and shift traffic onto the finished surfaces to improve safety and flow. He said the Sarankulmankatu north-end path closure is temporary. Cyclists and pedestrians will be guided via a detour along Nuolialantie, Lentokentänkatu and Talvitie to the southern part of Sarankulmankatu, and access to local properties will be maintained during the roughly one-month diversion.
The final driving and walking routes along the entire tram corridor will be introduced during 2027. Passenger tram service between the Kauppi campus and Ruotula stops, and between Sorin aukio and Partola stops, is planned to begin in August 2028.
